For more than a decade I have lived in Guangzhou, China – half a world away from where I grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina. During that time God has given me a much broader view of this world than I ever could have known had I stayed Stateside, and on top of that He brought me a Chinese groom whom I love more and more with the passing of time. Every day is a learning experience as we remenisce over the past, work through our present and dream of our future.
Other than writing, my interests include: reading, piano, violin, dance and catching up with friends. Oddly enough, I also enjoy cooking now – a task which used to be distasteful to me. I hope to share some of my discoveries about budget western cooking in China, which I hope will prove as helpful to you as it has been for me.
Mickey and I have converted our second bedroom into a classroom where I teach children English part-time. But I find myself learning as much as I teach as I find ways to improve each month.
